Tour
Of The Holy Name Of Jesus
8 - The South Transept
Contains the war memorials to those who
died in the Great War (1914-1918) and
the Second World War (1939-1945).
The tablet, with its names of parishioners
who died, and the windows by Paul Woodruff
(a pupil of William Morris) invite the
visitor to pray for the repose of the
souls of those who died. The statue
of St. Teresa of Lisieux in the niche
between the windows is the memorial
to those who died in 1939-1945. A new
tie bar was inserted above the War Memorial
window, which was also restored as part
of the work on the church in 2002/2003.
