9 - The Holy Souls’
Chapel
Was completed in 1885 with its fine high
relief carving of the saints in Heaven
and below the altar the souls awaiting
entry into heaven from Purgatory. St.
Michael with his scales and a guardian
angel sheltering a soul stand on either
side.
The window above the altar is a copy of
the icon ‘Salus Populi Romani’ in the
Basilica of St. Mary Major in Rome.
